Thomas Boettner review "So, am I wrong in my thinking, or is the fact that this has serious black metal overtones a "new"/release specific development? Mind you, I'm woefully behind on keeping up with newer work ACROSS THE BOARD, so I'm mostly relegated to what i encounter on IG and new work from old favorites. HAVING SAID ALL THAT, I really wish i was listening to this on a better system!!!!! Without being (intentionally) reductive, getting vibes reminiscent of Menace Ruine, Dead Times (THE BODY adjacent project, highly recommended), TRTRKMMR, a splash of dark techno in the vein of Silent Servant (and some early Patrick Cowley)... I really dig this! And I think a lot of that comes from my flawed assumption that i was about to pop on yet another post-industrial/P.E./noise album. Which...as an avowed lifer... thank you. It's refreshing to hear stuff that's both unexpected and decidedly FRESH. Ah, pastor Steven Anderson! What a fuckwit. Excellent ending to side B.
